Photographs, 1899-1946.

Photographic prints, negatives, and glass negatives taken principally by Brown on his expeditions to the American West and overseas. Geological formations, collecting sites, expedition party members, landscapes, animals, indigenous people, and architectural features are some of the subjects depicted. Many photographs are identified. Also, aerial photographs of the American Museum-Sinclair Oil Dinosaur Expedition to several western states and Alberta; and photographs of paintings of dinosaur restorations by Jesse E. Allen, Sinclair Company artist. A photograph album illustrates American Indians, a waterfall, campsites, and Brown's first wife, Marion, 1900.
